While everyone is talking about clothes, let’s talk about music!
ELLE BALTIC invited me to make my favourite runway soundtrack list (there’s no ranking here, btw) of this season & I was more than happy to do it. Not only because I love music, sound is my language of aesthetics, I am a DJ & the founder of sonic branding boutique OSB013, but also because one year ago me & my partner, one of the best Lithuanian producers & artists Leon Somov created the entire musical identity for Vilnius Fashion Week. We made the official Spotify playlist, the iconic sound ID pulsing through socials & live at the show as the event’s signature sound, every designer show soundtrack (there were 7!) & the official aftermovie track.
So I understand the power of music. It’s a precious opportunity to activate the imagination, interpret & feel. It’s something that really excites me 🙂 let’s look & listen to my top runway shows this season (press any photo & it’ll take you straight to the show video) <33 maybe in the end of this post I’ll tell you my NO.1!!
I said there’s no ranking here, but if I had to choose only one soundtrack of this season… it would be TOM FORD (although I have to admit Britney Spears – Gimme More (Le Motel & Arthur Brounds Remix) at Chanel was quite impressive!). Haider Ackermann did a great job, I really loved all the looks & models!! the casting – just wow!!! The music really sharpened visual experience (I could only imagine what it felt like sitting in the room) creating an experience like in a film scene so you could imagine yourself what was happening when the light were off. It has tension, it has sexiness, at the same time sophistication. & Tina Turner singing “Girls” later mixed with David Bowie himself… Noir fantasmagorique!
